Vaman Treatment

Vamana Ayurveda Process: Nurturing Wellness Through Cleansing and Rejuvenation

Central to our process is the Vamana therapy, a gentle yet powerful method of eliminating toxins from the upper gastrointestinal tract. Under the supervision of our skilled practitioners, you’ll receive specific herbal preparations to induce controlled vomiting. This process expels accumulated toxins, excess mucus, and imbalances associated with Kapha dosha.

1.

Preoperative procedure

We begin with the snehapana for moisturizing the body. We give the patient any formulations of ghee for the purpose of the detachment of adhered doshas from the channels. We then induce sweat, taking the loosened doshas to the alimentary canal for further expulsion from the body. On the previous day, we advise the patient to have foods that increase kapha like heavy food, sweets, and oily substances.

2.

Procedure

On the day of vamana, the body is massaged with oil, and perspiration is induced. We then ask the patient to sit comfortably in a chair facing a basin kept on a stool.

At first, the patient is given six glasses of milk and is made to vomit. After that, medicine for vamana, like madanaphala ( Randia dumetorum) is given, which further induces vomiting. We advise the patient to vomit the entire contents out, our physicians keep a close check on any kind of complications.

3.

Post-operative procedure

After the physicians have made sure that the patient has vomited the entire contents, we advise the patient to wash their face with lukewarm water and then administer medicinal fumes to be inhaled.

Benefits of Vamana

During the treatment, you are encouraged to relax and let go of any tension or stress. Many people find the sound and sensation of the liquid pouring to be deeply calming, inducing a meditative state and promoting mental clarity.

Purpose of Vamana Treatment

Vamana treatment is targeted to expel increased Kapha Dosha out of the body. When Kapha dosha increases, it causes certain types of diseases – such as cold, cough etc. If the extent of Kapha increase is less, then some oral medicines can be given to suppress it. But if it has increased to a large extent and if it has moved from its natural place to other places, then it needs to be expelled out of the body. By expelling it out, the disease gets cured, often completely. Since Kapha is situated in the chest region, expelling it from the oral route is very easy. Hence, Vamana treatment is designed. To expel it out, first the Kapha Dosha needs to be forcefully brought from the extremities and different organs into the stomach, and then vomiting is induced.
